Missionary Organization: Island Breeze Impact World Tour, a ministry under Youth With A Mission (YWAM)

Connection to Calvary: We both attended Calvary in our single days Rudy 1984/Olepa 1985. Rudy was part of the worship team as an ukulele or bass player.  Olepa was involved in the hula halau and keiki corner in those days. When our girls got older, they also participated with the hula halau. In 1991, we started traveling in missions, but we stayed connected to Calvary as our home church. Pastor David Rees-Thomas' heart was always for us, always loving and welcoming, and that was why we stayed based in Kona for so long.  We were based away from Kona for 12 years and moved back in December 2007 where we continue to be a part of Calvary Community Church.

Our ministry is called Island Breeze.  In Island Breeze Ministry, we use our Polynesian cultural expressions to present the gospel around the world. At the end of our programs, we get to see many respond to the Lord. Our ministry is also about cultural redemption, believing that every culture can be redeemed back to worship and praise to our God.

Our mission field is both to rural towns and cities of the United States and many countries overseas.  We have taken the gospel to over 40 states and have seen thousands come to the Lord. Though we work very closely with local churches, our target audience is non Christians.  Overseas, we have been able to take the gospel to Brazil, Norway, New Zealand, Fiji, Denmark, Holland, Scotland, Spain, England, India, China, Puerto Rico, Sweden, Finland, S.Korea, Philippines, Western Samoa, and Australia visiting most of these countries multiple times.

Our children Brooke, Ruth, and Tavita are very much a part of our ministry.  We have schooled and raised them on the road.  Our children have learned to pray and minster to people along side of us (Rudy and Olepa).  They are part of all that we do in missions.
