Feeding the Homeless at The Friendly Place Shelter

We have the opportunity to share the love of God in a practical way to those who are most in need right here in Kona.  The Friendly Place, located in the Old Industrial Area, is a 31 single-room, co-ed facility where people who have fallen on hard times can eat-in and have housing at night.  Run by HOPE Services Hawaii, a Catholic nonprofit agency, this organization encourages the love of God to be shared along with meeting practical needs.  During the day, the center has a staff who helps people look for jobs, housing, and other assistance.  Area churches are invited to help provide meals, and every Friday, Calvary is committed to providing dinner at The Friendly Place to those who are in need.  Contact Mike Hamilton to sign up to cook or serve a meal at the shelter, and bring love to the needy in our own community.

What better way to find restoration than in the strength, peace, and love of God? This is the heartbeat of the Hotel Ministry. Though the congregation changes weekly, it is our desire to bring God's love, healing, and encouragement to those visiting Kona. The Hula Halau of Calvary is dedicated to the expression of God's revelations and love to us through cultural expression, dance, and the performing arts. Performing for both church and public events, the Hula Halau of Calvary is a powerful evangelistic tool that displays the grace and wonder of our God.
